Close the Kas Dolphinarium

Unfortunately the Kas Dolphinarium has been reopened and dolphins are being held there.

Please support the protests, petitions and boycotts to help free these beautiful animals.

The people of Kas and those who come to Kas are against keeping them in captivity and have no connection to this unpleasant activity.

Kas Marina Quayside Moorings

There are currently no quayside moorings in the new Kas Marina as the whole area has been roped off. It is still possible to anchor.

The Bristolian

The Bristolian visited Kas harbour yesterday. The boat was built in, and has come from New Zealand to cruise the Mediterranean this summer.

She is simply stunning and the ultimate in style and luxury. Despite being over 36m in length overall she has only one owner’s berth and three for guests with six crew in three berths.

Kas Marina Opening Dates

As progress towards completion of the construction continues it is hoped that facilities will begin to become available towards the end of 2010.

The official opening is due H1 2011. At this time prices and availability of marina berths are not available but information will be published in due course.

Turkish Youth and Sports Day

May 19th, 2010

Today is Turkish Youth and Sports day in Turkey. All over Turkey school children have been spiritedly practising their drumming, marching and trumpets. The day is dedicated to the youth.

It is also a day of commemoration of Kemal Atatürk

The school children of Kas performed traditional folk dances and marches in the harbour.

Volcanic sunset

All the cars are covered with dust and this evening there is the most amazing sunset. The clouds are so unusual that it is possible that it is the ash blowing over from the Volcano in Iceland.

It is now possible to add Volcano disruption to a travel policy in case summer plans are affected.

The Presidential Tour of Turkey

The Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey is due to pass through Kas on 16th April before finishing the stage in Finike.

The race is considered one of the most important 17 races of the world having been upgraded to 2.HC Classification. The race is broadcast on TRT and Eurosport.

Depending on the average speed the riders will pass Kas between around 14.45pm and 15.05pm

The winner of the prologue stage held in Istanbul was Andre GREIPEL from Team HTC-Columbia.

Tourism Minister of Turkey to visit Kas

April 4th, 2010

The Tourism Minister of Turkey is expected to visit Kas next Friday 9th April to open the new Kas marina bypass. He will also visit Kekova and Patara.

Hopefully the weather will be sunny and warm.
